Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What level students do you teach?

I specialise in teaching total beginners/beginners from the age of 8 to 70 (and beyond). It's never too late to cultivate a passion and learn new skills. I will devise personally tailored lesson plans to suit your specific requirements and musical aspirations.

Do you teach complete beginners?

Of course, beginners are always welcome. I am very experienced with teaching students who have never picked up a guitar before, ensuring the lessons go at a pace that suits them. You won't be a beginner for long here at Guitar Lessons Northampton.

Where are you based?

I am actually a mobile guitar teacher, so am able to travel to your home location to teach you in the comfort of your own home in you are based in the Northampton area. My students really like this part of the service as they don't need to travel, get stuck in traffic jams or worry about being late. For more information simply get in touch.

Do you teach electric or acoustic guitar?

I teach both and have a wide knowledge of both styles.

Do you teach children?

Yes, I teach a lot of young people under 16 and would be more than happy to teach your children as well. I find that children younger than 10 love to learn through exciting and engaging lessons covering a fun pop song that they can recognise. With students who are slightly older being really passionate about learning the bands that they love. Whatever your age I have the lessons to help you reach your aims on the guitar. For your peace of mind, I carry an Enhanced DBS check.

Do I need to own a guitar before I start my first lesson?

Not at all, I have guitars I can lend you for the lesson. Although, in time, if you choose to take lessons more seriously, you might benefit from buying your own starter guitar for practising in your own free time. For younger children, a smaller size guitar (i.e. half size) might be required and should, therefore, be purchased soon after the first lesson. We have prepared a great article about Guitar Shops in Northampton where you can get a lot of useful information.

What happens if I need to cancel a lesson?

That is no problem at all, just contact me as soon as you can to let me know, this enables me to offer that time slot to another student. Do note that Guitar Lessons Northampton operates a 48-hour cancellation policy, whereby, if a lesson is cancelled within 48 hours of the start date it will be charged at £10 no exceptions.

Do you do vouchers?

I certainly do, get in touch for more information.
